Attracts the female biting mosquito
How the Mosquito Slayer works
The Mosquito Slayer is the first mosquito trap to use a suite
of scientifically proven lures to attract and kill mosquitoes. A
range of proven attractants in special combination incorporated
into a single compact unit mimic signals given off by humans, animals
and birds to attract female mosquitoes.
When the mosquitoes draw close to the trap, circulating air forces
them into a collection tray of solution where they drown.
A number of factors will influence trap catches such as placement
of the trap, operation times and seasonal and environmental conditions.
No trap will totally clear a neighbourhood of mosquitoes. However,
our Mosquito Slayers are tailored to specific requirements and they
will, when used according to best practice, significantly reduce
mosquito populations in defined areas and reduce the risk of mosquito-borne
disease. For every female mosquito caught, 300 potential offspring
will be eliminated.
Mosquito Slayer presents two models for use in commercial and domestic
situations.
Mosquito SlayerPRO
Product Code: MSP1-SI
The Mosquito SlayerPRO is a large capacity commercial mosquito
and biting midge trap. It is ideal for large areas and is well
suited to service companies who provide customers with monthly
to quarterly servicing.
The Mosquito SlayerPRO uses a suite of scientifically proven
attractants to trap the female mosquitoes and midges - the ones
that bite.
The trap comes with a revolutionary gas regulator hose that
connects directly to a cylinder of carbon dioxide (CO2) without
the need for a regulator.
Gas cylinder is not provided.
Outdoor use only.
1 year warranty.
Mosquito Slayer Series 4
Product Code: MTS4
The Mosquito Slayer Series 4 is designed for use in homes, courtyards
and small commercial situations. It uses a suite of scientifically
proven attractants to trap the female mosquitoes and midges -
the ones that bite.
The Mosquito Slayer Standard Unit is a non-gas trap. It can
be easily upgraded to dispense a controlled flow of carbon dioxide
with the addition of our revolutionary gas regulator hose that
connects to a bottle of carbon dioxide. A regulator is not required.
See Gas Regulator Hose Model A-S MSA-GH1.
For outdoor use only.
Gas cylinder is not provided.
1 year warranty.
The system connects to normal mains (240v
50Hz) power through a 12-volt transformer (included free). A CO2
cylinder (supplied separately) links to the trap via a 1.5-metre
long, industrial-strength, low-pressure gas line. The Australian
designed trap reduces mosquitoes and midges/sand flies breeding
around your home, workplace or where animals are kept, by breaking
the breeding cycle before the adult females lay their eggs.
While some other insect trapping devices
have only one or two methods of attracting insects, the Mosquito
Slayer Trap uses more than ten scientifically proven attractants
for mosquitoes and midges/sand flies.

Mosquitoes and their effect on the Australian lifestyle
The mosquito menace
Mosquitoes can spoil outdoor activities and pose serious health
threats to homeowners and their family. Mosquitoes are responsible
for the spread of a number of diseases including Dengue Fever,
Ross River Fever, Encephalitis, Yellow Fever, Malaria and West
Nile Virus. The spread of many of these diseases is on the increase
in Australia and world wide.
Mosquitoes are becoming more tolerant of current chemical control
methods and there is also growing health and environmental concern
about the use of certain chemicals. Additionally, the cost for
local government authorities to conduct neighbourhood control
programs is increasing and becoming more difficult to maintain.
Residential mosquito control is gaining attention as people
take responsibility to protect themselves from the mosquito threat.
The use of effective traps is an integral part of residential
mosquito management.
Businesses, developers and other commercial organisations are
becoming aware of their “duty of care” to provide
safer environments for their staff, clients and the community
– limiting the potential threat of this disease carrying
vector.

Are Mosquitoes life threatening?
We now know that the spread of mosquito borne diseases, such
as Malaria, Dengue Fever, West Nile Virus, Rift Valley Fever,
Japanese Encephalitis, Eastern Equine Encephalitis, Ross River
Virus (particularly prevalent in Australia), Murray Valley Encephalitis,
Barmah Forest Virus, Yellow Fever and many other forms of fever,
are on the increase the world over. In fact, worldwide, mosquitoes
transmit disease to more than 700,000,000 people annually, and
will be responsible for the deaths of 1 out of every 17 people
currently alive. Mosquitoes have an infamous place in history
too; one well known example is where they all but stopped the
construction of the Panama Canal by transmitting Yellow Fever
and causing the deaths of thousands of workers involved with the
construction.
According to reports from the World Health Organization, Malaria
causes as many as 3,000,000 deaths annually, and 2.5 billion people
around the world are at risk from Dengue fever. Each year, there
are tens of millions of cases, and up to 95% are children.
Many of these same diseases are on the increase world wide,
as mosquitoes become increasingly tolerant of current methods
of insect control.
The threat in Australia of vector-borne diseases is growing
at an alarming rate.
Only female mosquitoes bite humans and transmit diseases!
To protect your business, family and yourself from nuisance
bites as well as from dangerous disease such as Dengue Fever,
Ross River Fever and Murray Valley Encephalitis, female mosquito
control is essential. Our Mosquito Slayer Traps are specially
designed to attract the female mosquito. A field test showed 99%
of the mosquitoes caught by the Mosquito Slayer trap were female,
while only 1% was male.

Scientifically proven attractants
The Mosquito Slayer Trap use the very same elements that attract
mosquitoes and midges/sand flies to humans by luring them into its
trap. Carbon dioxide gas is released over a special formulation
of attractant solution. A small electric fan sends the aroma wafting
through the air. The scent draws the insects towards the trap. As
the insects get closer, they are then further attracted by spectrum
and ultraviolet lights that draw them in toward the opening. When
they enter, the fan blows them down into the tray of attractant
solution where they drown. It's the combination and quantity of
each of the attractants that make the Mosquito Slayer Trap an effective
device in the control of adult female mosquitoes, midges and sand
flies.
